I lust noticed that you'd added a search feature so I upgraded from
2.12 to try it. It broke the IconList.tps file, so I copied over that
and it ran ok.
However, when I try to search on the note field, I get erratic
results. I select the search 'memo' field, which I assume refers to
Notes. However it seems that the notes are not searched and I get no
results, even though I enter a search word that is in one of the items
notes.

On another database, selecting search doesnt filter down the results
at all. I have another database which, when I do the search, lists
the one item that has the text in the note, but also lists some other
items that dont have the text in the note, description, category, or
anywhere else. If I double click on one of the items, then select ok,
the search results are cleared. Strange. It may be just that one
database giving the wierd results, but I'd expect to be able to search
on text in the notes.

Anyway, thanks for all of your work. It's been (and still is) a
really useful prog.

Cheers,
VJ

Try this

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;295278

other than that, search for ikernel.exe and InstallShield

It's some kind of issue with your computer setup

Sorry, but you are not likely to get much help here. This mailing list
is for support for RatShopper - a desktop add on for HandyShopper.
HS2Edit is a different program.

I just installed HS2Edit and updated a HandyShopper file and exported
it to my Palm. Now that database shows nothing in the list. If I go to
Mics/Preference and reset column to default then every other line
blacked out. Have to scroll my palm pen over it to see the list.
I tried creating a new data base and it did the same thing.

I'm using HandyShopper build 7908 July 8 2005
Here is an example of what is happening

Comb
Brush (This line will be black out)
Deoderant
First Aid (This line will be black out)
Tooth Brush
ToothPaste (This line will be black out)

Could you please tell me what's wrong

Thanks

Thanks, I had spent days in the late 1990's putting every item in HandyShopper
that I ever purchased. Then about 2 years ago both my palm and my hard drive
crashed and I lost it. Frustrating, because I used it all the time. So if you
do let me know.

Thanks

Hi Belinda,
I have tried untill I just about started pulling my hair out. The concept of
being able to work on a pc with a full sized screen and keyboard really
motivated me to try to get this to work with the Version 3 of Handy Shopper. I
don't really want to rollback to a lower version of Handy Shopper, I have to
admit that I don't know how anyways.

From what I have gathered it all revolves around the program being written for
the specific version of Handy Shopper and HSXconv.exe file. I tried to rename
the hs3conv.exe to hs2conv.exe so that Ratshopper would recognize the file name,
but that didn't do the trick.

If I do hear how to eventually use this program or hear of an upgrade of
Ratshopper I will save your contact info so I can inform you.
Good luck!

Hi, I am new to this group and I have a question on how to use a Handy

until a newer version is released? I keep getting a error #1 and my
database doesnt get imported. I tried searching the group and saw a
reference to the HS2Conv file having to be the same in the Rat

recognize it so I tried renaming it to hs2conv but I still get the

I deleted UnitsDefaults.tps and reinstalled the program (Version 10
full- which I believe is the only one with UnitsDefaults) and I used
teh repair option.
I get the exact same message:
Error: Invalid Record Declaration [47]"
I click "ok" then there is a "Halt" message that closes the program.

Does my version of Windows matter? Is there something else that I am
missing here? Why can't I get this to work?
Thanks-
Logan

So...
I actually had hs2-7908 (an even newer version than the one you
suggested "hs2-7904". So- I downloaded 7904 and backdated the file
to a previous file.
I still received this message: "File UnitsDefaults.tps could not be
opened. Error: Invalid Record Declaration [47]"
I click "ok" then there is a "Halt" message that closes the program.

What am I missing here? Are there people actually using this
program? Does it actually work?

I have followed the instructions of "flm_flm" (message #389) of this
group. The instructions are accurate and have allowed me to install
version 2_15 and have also eliminated the "Expiration" problem.

When I go to import a Handy Shopper file from the PDA I get these
messages:
"hs2convert failed to run error code 1"
I click "ok" then:
"File UnitsDefaults.tps could not be opened. Error: Invalid Record
Declaration [47]"
I click "ok" then there is a "Halt" message that closes the program.

looks like there are some program errors that need to be fixed to get
this out for Beta testing.

Anybody have any solutions?

Everything from message#389 and newer seems to indicate a probelm with

It seems to me that more people are getting frustrated with this and
just uninstalling it and forgetting the whole thing. Are there any

I downloaded Rat Shopper, and installed it. I did the enable me, and
that worked fine. I get all the way to import this file (or whatever
it specifically says) and I get the Hs2convert error 1 I've seen
other people ask about. I tried to check the version but it flashes a
black screen with writing on it so fast that I can't read it. I tried
looking at the properties and there's nothing there about the version.
So I went and found the newest version of HandyShopper I could find
(thinking mine must be out dated) and installed that. Then I ran a
repair of the Rat Shopper hoping it would see the new Hs2Convert and
use it. No such luck. I'm sending in this message (since it takes a
while for them to post) and then I will try removing Rat Shopper and
re-installing it. Hopefully if that doesn't work this message will
have an answer by then.

TIA
Meira

Open the program and click on help then enable me. It is free, but you
have to do that to make it work. Good luck from there, I'm still
trying to figure out how to get the HS2convert to work.

I am very disappointed to report that I was not able to get it to work
at all, and finally gave up and uninstalled the program. I had many of
the same problems as previous posters, and followed all the advice, to
no avail. I kept getting errors codes and could not open files. What
a disappointment, and waste of my time.

I have done the HELP -> ENABLE ME thing, shut the program down, then
re-opened it. Now it cab't find a file, I click OK a few times and
then that shiuts itself down.

to expire on December 29th, yesterday. Am I doing something wrong?
