Hi all,
We have been using Rawkee for exporting scenes from Maya for a few weeks, and it seems very good, thanks
for your work. However, we have encountered an important bug during the exportation of a scene to WRL.
The scene is quite simple and consists of the following nodes:
_______ _______________
| group1 | | group1_instance |
------------- /--------------------------
|__________/
| x3dInline |
----------------
|_____________
| x3dInline_0_ |
----------------------
x3dInline is a reference to a very simple file (e.g. a cube at the origin)
The group1_instance was obtained by creating another instance of the group1 node (Select group1 and then
Duplicate with Instance setup at the duplicate options dialog box).
When exporting this scene using Rawkee version 1.0.3 for Maya7.0 at Window XP, the group1_instance is
exported as a transform node (as expected), however, the x3dInline node is not exported corretly as one
of its children, and the file exported is broken.
This is a very important feature for us: "Using instances of references to other files", and it doesn't seem to be working.
We have tried to help you on finding the bug. Thus, we have checked out the current svn repository and we have
successfully compiled the Rawkee 1.0.3 for Windows using cygwin as described in your documentation (notes/ directory).
By the way, when we installed our compiled version of Rawkee (using Bitrock), without modifying any line of code,
it just didn't export anything! Maya just suddenly closes when attempting to export the simplest scene (e.g. a cube only).
We have also compiled the version 1.1.0, but the same problem remains, Maya just refuses to export
the most simple scene. Although the plugin is successfully loaded, when we try to 'Export All' with a very simple scene,
Maya suddenly closes and does not export anything.
As you can see, we are not being able to help you with this bug.
Can anybody help us? Or try to reproduce the bug first mentioned?
Why our compiled version of Rawkee (without modification) just doesn't work?
Please, we really need help at those points.
Thanks in advance,
Olavo.
