SourceForge appears to be having download issues. I reported the errors to SF
support only to find many other projects have also reported that their project
files are either unavailable for download, or are corrupted.
This may be the reason as to why the OSX downloads didn't work. The windows
installers aren't even available.
Once this is fixed on the SF side, I will update the download files, and send out
a note on the status of plugin availability.

Alright, sorry about the mixup.
As of this minute, 1:11am Central Time, the SourceForge servers are now
properly downloading files. Get your copies of RawKee for Windows and
OSX here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=116002
RawKee 1.1.0 beta for 32-bit Windows, Maya versions 6.0-2008 are
available for download. Now that the SF downloading problem has cleared
up, it should be a breeze to install on Windows.
RawKee 1.1.0 beta for 32-bit OSX, Maya versions 8.5 and 2008 are
available for download as well, but with a few issues:
1) The "bundle" files seemed to be getting corrupted during download. In
an attempt to fix this, I packaged the bundle files in their own zip files.
I still had problems with Safari corrupting the file. Not sure what was
going on there. I ended up clearing the cache in both Firefox and
Safari. Now the zipped bundle files seem to be downloading correctly.
* Clear Your Browser Cache Before Downloading *
2) I suggest you place the appropriate bundle file in the following
location (be sure to extract it from the zip file if your browser
doesn't do it for you):
For Maya 8.5:
/Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/8.5/plug-ins/
For Maya 2008:
/Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/2008/plug-ins/
3) You will need to download the "rawkee-resources.zip" file. For those
of you who are savvy in the use of the Maya.env file, place the bundle,
icons, and mel scripts where you see fit. For those of you who are not,
login as root (or get someone who can) and install the zip file's
contents in the following locations (yes, Maya.app is a folder - but
only appears so via the command line):
Maya 8.5
All contents of the zip folder: "icons":
/Applications/Autodesk/maya8.5/Maya.app/Contents/icons/
All contents of the zip folder: "scripts/others/"
/Applications/Autodesk/maya8.5/Maya.app/Contents/scripts/others/
Maya 2008
All contents of the zip folder: "icons":
/Applications/Autodesk/maya2008/Maya.app/Contents/icons/
All contents of the zip folder: "scripts/others/"
/Applications/Autodesk/maya2008/Maya.app/Contents/scripts/others/
Note: The RawKee bundles for Maya 8.5 and Maya 2008 were compiled on an
iMac Core 2 Duo using the developers kit that comes with OSX 10.5.
I'm not completely savvy on how the build process works on a mac, but I
believe I compiled the plug-ins so that they are universal binaries and
will run on the appropriate versions of OSX. But I could be wrong. If I
am let me know.
I have no idea whether or not these binaries will work on the mac 64-bit
Xeon architecture. If you try it, and it works for the Xeons, please let
me know.
I hope to have time to make an attempt at building rawkee 1.1.0 for Maya
6-8 on OSX sometime this weekend. No promises, other than expect them no
later than Jan 1. If I can find the time over the Christmas break, I
will attempt to get the installer to work with OSX 10.5 as well.

Yeah, I downloaded the one for Maya 2008 as well. It appears to have
been corrupted during the FTP upload. The original build I on this
machine seems to be working fine though.
I'll find a way to fix it tomorrow. Sorry for all the hassle everyone.

Hmmm... thanks for the note. Yeah, that's odd. I'll recompile tomorrow
with the Maya 8.5 disks.
I didn't build the 8.5 bundle myself, I will try building 6.0-8.5 tomorrow.

I've updated the RawKee binaries on SourceForge.
There is now a 1.1.0 beta version of RawKee available for 32-bit Windows
for Maya 6.0 thru Maya 2008.
This update also includes an OSX bundle for Maya 8.5. Not sure what os
or architecture it was compiled on.
Lastly, RawKee 1.1.0 is also available for Maya 2008 on OSX. I believe
it is a universal binary.
It was compiled on a 2.0 Ghz intel iMac, Core 2 Duo under OSX 10.5.
The major update on this release is the changes in the Character Editor.
It's still buggie.
If you download either the 8.5 or the 2008 bundles for OSX, you'll need
to also download the "rawkee-resources-1.1.0.zip" file as well. Follow
the instructions of the osx-readme.txt file found in this zip for
installing the bundle, the icons and mel scripts.
The mel scripts contain a few fixes, so those running 1.1.0 may want to
update with the windows installers.
However, don't update to the new scripts unless you are also updating
your binary.
Only other new feature is the addition of an x3dBillboard node. It works
well.
Sorry that these updates are a bit piecemeal, that their is no linux
update, that there are no 64-bit versions, and version numbering is a
bit screwy. I'll try to rectify some of that over the next two weeks or so.
Aaron
After the you run the installer, open maya, go to:
Window>Settings/Preferences>Plug-in Manager
Then scroll down the list of available plugins until you find x3d.mll
Check "Loaded" or "Auto load"
The plugin does not work with Personal Learning Edition.

i just downloaded 1.1.0 beta for maya8.5 on winxp... the download and
install went ok, but the flash activation tutorial does not work so
the only problem that i am having right now is that i am not able to
run the plugin...
if anyone can help that would be great
I just checked the bitrock website, version 4 of the bitrock installer does not
support leopard.
I'll look into it a bit more tonight.
