I want to let you all know that I have finally managed to release our
toolkit for the development of prediction engines for recommender
systems to the open source community. The toolkit is called The Duine
Toolkit (Duine is the Irish word for 'person') and is based on my PhD
research. It has been released under the LGPL license.
The toolkit contains several prediction techniques that can predict and
learn how interested a user is in a piece of information and a way to
combine these techniques. It also provides ways to add your own
prediction techniques. Examples of included prediction techniques are
collaborative filtering, case-based reasoning, top N predictions and
genre-based predictions. It also contains a profile manager for the
storage of user data.
API documentation and a user manual are also included. I intend to
release an example application at a later stage that shows you
step-by-step how to use the toolkit.
You can find the toolkit at http://duine.sf.net
If you have any support questions, comments etc. regarding to the
toolkit, please use the mailing list that has been setup for this
project (go to the Mail section of the project at SourceForge.net)
I hope you find the toolkit useful and am looking forward to your
experiences, comments, suggestions etc.
Regards,
