Technical Yahoo!, Sr - Music Web Services, Personalization

The successful candidate will be a key contributor in an engineering
group devoted to the development and maintenance of specialized, high
volume web services. These systems include
personalization/recommendation systems, playlist/sequence generation
systems and metadata transformation and delivery systems.

Requirements:

- BS Computer Science, Math, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience developing mission-critical software systems.
- 3+ years of experience developing using the Java programming
language in application server environments (minimum Servlet API, full
J2EE preferred).
- 2+ years of experience developing multitiered solutions in a
heterogeneous environment.
- Experience developing software in the Unix environment.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Intelligent, self-directed, motivated, responsible person who has
good work ethics and is willing to be challenged.
- Enjoys a fast paced, exciting environment that blends the Internet,
technology and music.

Desired Skills:

- Experience developing and deploying J2EE applications; current JBoss
experience a plus.
- Experience with Web Services methodologies (REST, SOAP) and
associated toolsets.
- Comfortable with XML technologies such as Schema, XSL/XSLT, DOM, SAX.
- Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical methods,
or other modeling methodologies.
- Experience with high volume, high availability systems; testing,
metrics and monitoring methodologies.
- Knowledge of Apache configuration, module authoring (C/C++).
- Experience with complex platform migration and integration.
