http://home.ximb.ac.in/~dpdash/JRP.htm
Dear Research_Practice Members,
Many authors, reviewers, and volunteers have been working silently on
the Journal, for some time now. I would like to apprise you of the
status of that work.
** For the first issue (Apr 2005), manuscripts are at various stages:
Under review process: 7
Promised (but not received yet): 8
Review completed: 4
Book review received: 1
[The above does not include manuscripts submitted to Hector.]
** The second issue (Oct 2005)
The second issue is going to be a special issue, to be anchored by Dr
Gabriele Bammer (National Centre for Epidemiology and Population
Health, The Australian National University, Canberra). The theme of
the issue will be: 'New Challenges to Research Practice: Natural
Resource Management in Australia'. A sample of possible papers:
1. social science for natural resource management agencies
2. solving problems in research organisations
3. interdisciplinary research in context
4. policy-oriented research and post-graduate training
5. alternative knowledge systems
6. interdisciplinary research: ecosystem services
7. integrative research for novel landscape futures
8. integrated assessment and modelling
** Book Reviews [Very Important]
We need to have a stock of book reviews with us, before we launch
this journal. I hope all of you will help in this. There is a list of
books given here:
http://home.ximb.ac.in/~dpdash/JRP_Sample.htm to
give an idea about the TYPE of books to be reviewed in JRP.
In fact, you will be happy to know that some publishers have started
sending us new books for review in our Journal. I received the
following book recently:
Pawar, M. (Ed.) (2004). Data Collecting Methods and Experiences: A
Guide for Social Researchers, Elgin, IL: New Dawn Press.
If you can facilitate this process, do tell authors and publishers to
send us their new books, provided the topic is related to the challenges of
doing research in any domain.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
DP
