Re: [Research_Practice] Your Books

DP,

Isn't there a potential problem when a journal reviews a book (or a
contribution to a book) by one or more of the editors of that journal? I
know it happens, but I must say that when it happens in my home field
(Sinology), I always have an uncomfortable, and indeed suspicious, feeling
about it.

DP's view on this:

Thank you Bruce, for posing this important dilemma. I would seek to resolve this
not by delisting particular books from review considerations, but by emphasising
on proper and indepedent reviews.

One more thing: All the books we review should also be strongly related to the
Journals' theme, i.e., enhancing/improving the practice of research in specific
fields or in general.
