This group has been set up to help the electronics industry deal with the challenges of RoHS - Restrictions on Hazardous Substances. We will also be discussing the latest updates on REACH which stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. This is the right site to share info and updates on concerns related to restricted materials and related legislation around the world.

You can share information regarding:
WEEE, RoHS, China RoHS, Korea RoHS, Japanese Green Procurement, JIG (Joint Industry Guide), SB20, SB50, US, European and related international environmental issues. Materials Declaration issues and lead-free manufacturing may also be included.

Anybody who is involved in these topics is welcome to join. This is the place to send out updates, questions and concerns to the group for feedback. Job openings related to this group may also be posted as a service to the members.

Based on the growing set of environmental concerns, this group will cover REACH. You may send out questions & comments about the new EU REACH directive that went into effect June 1, 2007. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. There may be questions around Registration or SVHC's that members would like to discuss.

There are new concerns related to rare earth metals and the materials from Congo. Those issues may alse be included.
