Does anyone know the status of the Norway version RoHS (PoHS)?
Norway has changed 18 items to 10 items. I am wondering what is status of
10 items.

Hi Alexis
You can tell him, that he should not be worried, unless he has something
to do with piezoelectric devices. If so, he probably could have some
problems in some time (30 months from now).

I have a similar question. I see that Oko is making recommendations, but can we

Dear All,
Definitely I will share all the activities involved in compliance to REACH as well as ELV too as these are now directly linked to IMDS system!
REACH Compliance:
In any compliance, through out supply chain is always involved. As mentioned in previous mail, India suppliers being the non-community manufacturer, We can not directly register & pre-registration period is also over.Hence registration needs to be done through OR-Only representative only for the manufacturers of "PREPARATIONS". i.e. Grease/Oils/elastomeric constituent/Chemical compounds/Paints/coatings etc while Polymers are already exempted under REACH subject to its Monomer Contents (should be less than 2%). Steels have almost no issue.
Prodct manufactured by my company is an "ARTICLE" for which ARTICLE 7 & 33 are applicable.
Main steps involved in compliance & Step-1 to 8 will write in next mail. You also can refer the directive 2006/1907/EC which is 853 pages document. Main steps are
In-house awareness of our TOP Managment, different manufacturing plant (If any as we have 6 manufacturing locations) concerns of "MFG/QA/St. Sourcing/Stores/R&D etc. Supplier/vendor Summits for awareness./verification of raw materials at supplier end & which is main difficulty as they hesitate to tell their supplier name/ getting information on composition etc.
Pl refer the attachment for your information. I believe this information will be interesting & will be useful to you.

Al,
Not really sure of your exact point but..........
IC's are not within the scope of WEEE or RoHS, however if you
manufacture IC's and you want to market them as RoHS compliant then
you'll obviously need to ensure your "ingredients" and so your finished
article meet the requirements. This to me implies some due diligence is
required.

Do we have another group for the discussion of REACH or expend this group to include REACH?
Hi Sudhir,
Congratuation to you! Would you mind sharing us how did you prepare the
compliance with REACH - make a notification to ECHA or do not use those 15
SVHCs.
Thanks and regards,
Ray

Its interesting to find your stand on REACh. Interested to know how you carried out Use and Exposure Assessment and any exposure scenarios and Risk Minimization Measures applicable for those components ? What is the method of supply chain communication you followed ? Any software tool you used besides IUCLID5 (Dossier Preparation) ? Were you involved in any SIEF forums ?
Thanks and Regards

Hi Sudhir,
Thanks for your sharing information. The mould proof pouches containing DMF
were the root cause of the ban in Europe. It causes injury to more than 5,000
users in the UK. DMF does not only contain in the mould proof pouches but also
Rust Preventive Oils, tin foil shielding sheet, etc. We are learning more and
more materials using DMF every day and we have to share it for understanding the
risk in greater depth.

Ray

furniture or added to the footwear boxes. It thus evaporated and impregnated the
product, protecting it from moulds. However, it then also affected consumers who
were in contact with the products. DMF penetrated through the clothes onto
consumers’ skin where it caused painful skin contact dermatitis including
itching, irritation, redness, and burns; in some cases, acute respiratory
troubles were reported. The dermatitis was particularly difficult to treat. The
presence of DMF is thus a serious risk.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I have a couple of follow up question:
If an item is on the EU REACH SVHC list is it banned to enter EU, or is it only a restricted substance and importer has to pay Waste Management fee?
The CoCl2 is used at a level > 0.1% (weight), in all form is in the list and restricted right of way, or only in a certain for for now and in the HIC cards are not in the restricted list?
Thanks.
