Master Management Plan
Open House Information
Open House to be held on Tuesday, January 22
from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Information about the
master plan will be on display for the public to review.

The Illinois State Treasurer’s Offi ce has contracted
with a consultant team to prepare a new Master Management
Plan for Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site.
The Master Management Plan will address research potential,
resource protection, site development, visitor
experience, visitor center expansion and upgrades to
exhibits.
As a part of the planning process, Cahokia staff is soliciting
input from all interested parties before preparation
of the Final Master Management Plan. Site staff
is committed to assembling comments about the proposed
Master Management Plan from both the general
public and affi liated populations, such as American Indian
tribes that may have unique interests in and concerns
about Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site. You
may provide comments or concerns regarding these
topics that are being addressed in the Master Management
Plan:
• Site Grounds and Interpretive Center
• Research Potential
• Exhibits/Interpretation/Public Programs
• Economic Feasibility and Marketing
• Local Planning Issues
Input on the master planning process can be accomplished
in a variety of ways:
1) Attend the open house on Tuesday, January 22
from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Cahokia Mounds
Interpretive Center. An informal Open House will
be conducted to discuss the Draft Master Management
Plan and receive public comments prior
to submittal of the Final Master Management Plan.
Come anytime between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm.
2) You may view, or download the Cahokia Mounds
Draft Master Management Plan on the Cahokia
Mounds website: (www.cahokiamounds.com). A
PDF of the Draft Plan will be available for download
after January 15, 2008.
3) You can provide your comments or concerns on
the Cahokia Mounds Master Management Plan via
