RE: [SVG-Mobile] Comments on Adobe's stance and how it effects SVG mobile

In my opinion: none.

Everyone in the SVG Mobile world is already moving to SVG-Tiny 1.2, which is not supported by the Adobe Viewer anyway. Compatibility between SVG 1.1 (supported by Adobe Viewer) and SVG Tiny 1.2 is not that great: event models are different (of course), rendering is slightly different, etc…

There are several SVG 1.2 viewers already available for the Mobile world. I suspect we will see Windows emulations popping out in the near future.

Marc

Subject: [SVG-Mobile] Comments on Adobe's stance and how it effects SVG mobile

Hey all,
Still here; I'm lurking almost everyday on the groups. Because I must
be IRC illiterate, I can't chat with the SVG folks live. So I'm
posting my question here... what affect is the removal of the SVG
Viewer going to have on SVG's mobile applications?

I'm not looking for a technical answer; I'd rather see what the guru's
say about this from a high-level perspective.

Sara

Hi Chris, I respectfully disagree. The SVG community has been pushed into Adobe's arms for too long and it is time to realize that Adobe is now focusing its...

Chris, As usual we agree on most points. I suspect that the Flash Lite team, which has very ambitious targets, will be in favor or removing any air out of ...
