Thanks for your input Louis, I checked with Sumsung for any firmware
updates for the HL-R6157W and they just listed a download for the
user manual. My cableing is all HDMI except for a digital sound out
to my Theater Surround system. So I guess my next step is to borrow a
HD/Blue-Ray player and see what happens, if it works then the problem
is in my iScan vp50 processor which is curent model. Again thanks for
your help. If anyone else is having the same problem please contact
me and I'll try and help sort this problem out.

I have a two year old Samsung 61" DLP that was sold as a 1080p unit, but it won't input an 1080p signal, only 1080i. I have to set my DVDO iScan vp50 video...

You might want to check with Samsung to see if there are any firmware updates available for your model. Older DVDO processors would only upconvert 480i output...

You can also use a computer to do this. You will need a DVI to HDMI cable however and a video card with DVI out. The TV will report back all of its display...

The truth is that at a reasonable viewing distance it is difficult to see a difference. Consider that there are some HD format DVDs that don't actually output...
