The truth is that at a reasonable viewing distance it
is difficult to see a difference. Consider that there
are some HD format DVDs that don't actually output a
full 1080p anyway. Also, I'm sure you've watched HD
broadcasts that look outstanding. Keep in mind these
are all either 1080i (for most HD stations) or 720p
for Fox and ABC.

I have a two year old Samsung 61" DLP that was sold as a 1080p unit, but it won't input an 1080p signal, only 1080i. I have to set my DVDO iScan vp50 video... 		jceden12

You might want to check with Samsung to see if there are any firmware updates available for your model. Older DVDO processors would only upconvert 480i output...

You can also use a computer to do this. You will need a DVI to HDMI cable however and a video card with DVI out. The TV will report back all of its display...
