So... Is there anyone out there besides me that want to make their own automated
4th of July fireworks ignition platform?

Richard (exhausted after doing his family 4th party last weekend)

The Seattle Robotics Society hosts a "Monday Night Chat" each week.

Starting at 7pm Seattle Time each Monday, the SRS holds an
informal chat session. This is a great opportunity to come ask live
questions of the SRS members, seek help for technical problems, or
just chat about stuff.

Directions:

New web chat interface!

Tiny URL points to:

http://embed.mibbit.com/?server=irc.freenode.net&channel=%23SeattleRobotics&noSe\
\
\
rverNotices=true&forcePrompt=true

If you register with mibbit, it also allows you to post files to share
and log chat sessions. But there is no need to do that to participate.

Chatzilla is still the most recommended interface to Monday Night
Chat. And once installed (Along with the Firefox web browser), the
chat can be accessed from this link.

irc://irc.freenode.net/#SeattleRobotics

Directions for mIRC which may be applicable to other IRC chat clients
can be found at the SRS Homepage at
http://www.seattlerobotics.org
in the contact us link at:
http://seattlerobotics.org/contact.php

The chat requires that you use an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) program.
Details on finding one are below.

For you experts, the chat is held on irc.freenode.net in the
#seattlerobotics group.

For Mac Users:

(Umm I don't actually have experience setting this up, but you should
be able to figure it out from the mIRC directions below)

Hopefully we get a good group going in our weekly Monday Night Chat tonight
bringing their questions and expertise to the discussion. That way I won't have
to bore them with hours of talk on switching power supply design theory.

It's been a quiet week on the mailing list.

So come get your fix tonight in Monday Night chat. Bring up your projects, or
problems. Ask questions or speculate about what the winning designs will be at
Robothon. Or just act like a normal meeting and talk about something totally
random with friends.

I try to provide all the directions necessary to join in the email
announcements.

This is the link to the Mibbit webchat interface
http://tinyurl.com/MondayNightChat

If that doesn't work and you use Firefox, install Chatzilla
and then click on:
irc://irc.freenode.net/#SeattleRobotics

If you are using a Mac or not using Firefox, then there are other software
choices. (the first link for the webchat should work)

mIRC is the windows "standard" it isn't free, but it works.
colloquy for the Mac or iPhone or iPod touch works well for Apple branded
products.

for linux: xchat, irssi, bitchx and others work.

there is an irc client for Java based phones including the Blackberry if that is
your taste. or upIRC for Palm Pilots that have a network interface.

And even if you can't make it tonight, but are going to Robothon even if going
without a bot to compete with. Please volunteer a small amount of your time to
allow us to host this event.

Directions:

For you experts, the chat is held on irc.freenode.net in the
#seattlerobotics group.

New web chat interface!
No Software to install. Pretty interface.

If you register with mibbit, it also allows you to post files to share
and log chat sessions. But there is no need to do that to participate.

Chatzilla is still the most recommended interface to Monday Night
Chat. And once installed (Along with the Firefox web browser), the
chat can be accessed from this link.

Hey Fen, Freenode no longer supports Mibbit:

"Connections via mibbit are no longer supported on freenode. You may
wish to consider using http://webchat.freenode.net instead. Further
information over at http://bit.ly/19JILF"

You should update your email for the future.

Well I've been gone for 2 weeks, and just returned.
I hear the Freenode has had issues with Mibbit and would rather us use their
webchat gateway for those that don't want to install their own IRC software.

So to use webchat use the link

Which points too:

Hope it works for everyone, and that we have a good group tonight!

Directions:

For you experts, the chat is held on irc.freenode.net in the
#seattlerobotics group.

New web chat interface!
No Software to install.

If you register with mibbit, it also allows you to post files to share
and log chat sessions. But there is no need to do that to participate.

Chatzilla is still the most recommended interface to Monday Night
Chat. And once installed (Along with the Firefox web browser), the
chat can be accessed from this link.
