Welcome, SeattleWireless is an umbrella organization - representing the needs of the emerging community networks groups interested in getting wireless IEEE 802.11b,G and N hardware setup for wireless data communication in the 2.4GHz band. (WiFiStandard) This hardware operates license-free under the FCC's Part 15 regulations (see the FccRegulations page). We use mostly Orinoco, Lucent, Apple, Cisco, Linksys, and DLink products that support 802.11b, G and N. We use roof and window mounted antenna to create long-distance directional links and to provide client-computer access. We use open source routing solutions to create a robust, distributed WideAreaNetwork with metropolitan coverage
