Hi Linda,
I know that my self-experiment sounds a little crazy. But it's no
crazier than accupunture, where a technician sticks needles in
certain parts of the body to deal with a problem in another part
of the body.
I also do squats every day on my Total Gym 1000. Although they
are helpful, squats are not a 'silver bullet'.
Diet is another approach. It's been said that food plants in the
Nightshade family--potato, tomato, pineapple, eggplant, green
and red peppers--are bad for people with arthritis. I try to
minimize these also. That approach is not a silver bullet for me
either.
Fish oil supplements may be helpful. The ?-3's are supposed to
be anti-inflammatory. If they don't decrease the arthritis, they
will probably be healthful for the arteries. This is a kind of 'no-
regrets' approach.

similar for
hips too. Let me know if you come into anything that works. I have tried
exercising more
and less but nothing seems to work. I was about to try something in the
supplements -
but some say they don't work either... hey - I'll race you to the hip
replacement ward!
