This group is designed for all those interested in the automatic identification, extraction and understanding of SENTIMENT, OPINIONS and AFFECT in text, as well as for those interested in its generation. It is intended to facilitate communication between the diverse members of this community – from academics to those involved in commercial research – as well as to provide a central repository for announcements and reference material.

Anyone involved in the field of sentiment and affect in text is welcome to join this group, as long as they agree to engage in the spirit of sharing and strictly avoid overt promotion of commercial interests.

You may use this group in a number of ways: from simply joining the mailing list (all messages or digest options), through participating by adding files, links and calendar items, to helping with the management of the group (vetting new joiners and the like*).

We hope that you enjoy your involvement in the group and that you help strengthen our growing community centred around this emerging and fast evolving area of artificial intelligence.
