SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned
consulting firm specializing in environmental regulatory compliance,
natural resource management, cultural resource management and

SWCA is actively seeking to fill one or more Cultural Resources
Technician positions within our Cultural Resources Program for our
Tucson office. These positions are hourly and may work up to 40
hours or more per week depending on workload. Specifically, the
positions will work on an archaeological survey project in the
Tucson area, starting mid-May and extending until the early July or
beyond. Technicians will work in 4-person crews, surveying for
historic and prehistoric sites.

Work will be based out of Tucson, 5 days on (Mon-Fri) with weekends
off. Per diem and lodging will be paid for non-local personnel.
Pay rate ranges from $12.00-$14.00 hour based on individual
qualifications and experience.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of a Field Technician include:
Work in the field under the supervision of Field Supervisors
conducting archaeological fieldwork;
Conduct archaeological monitoring, survey, testing and data recovery;
Walk a minimum of 6-9 miles per day conducting archaeological survey.
Demonstrate ability to contribute to team efforts during cultural
resources field and lab work;
Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to
assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner;

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely
related field is mandatory. Field school or equivalent experience is
also minimally required. Knowledge and experience with
archaeological survey and excavation techniques and methodology is
required. Candidates must be able to travel, conduct fieldwork for
long hours (sometimes in inclement weather conditions, often in
rugged terrain), and be able to carry equipment and supplies
weighing up to 40 pounds.
