Hartgen Archeological Associates, Inc. seeks highly motivated candidates
to fill an immediate opening for Project Manager in Rensselaer, New
York. Applicants must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards
and must have an MA or PhD in archeology/anthropology and at least 5
years of experience conducting and supervising cultural resource
management studies.
Applicants must have a strong background in precontact (preferably
Northeastern) and historical archeology; strong organizational, writing,
and analytical skills; and must be detail-oriented and capable of
managing multiple concurrent tasks. The ideal candidate is
self-motivated, well organized, works well as part of a team, and has
strong leadership skills. Applicants must be skilled users of the
Microsoft Office suite. Survey and GPS experience are a plus, as is
experience using Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop.
The primary responsibilities of the position are supervision of Project
Directors and Field Directors and participation in the various aspects
of cultural resource management projects. This includes project scoping
and budgeting, fieldwork, research, site analysis, writing and reviewing
reports, contract management, client relations, and interacting with
various official agencies.
