Simply Solar - easy to build, DIY, solar panel e-mail group. We've even been mentioned in Mother Earth News! http://tinyurl.com/4kyct6w

Brainstorming and building solar projects is fun! There are many solar projects that are easy and inexpensive to build, solar is great for the environment and saves you money too. It makes great common sense to take advantage of the clean, free heat that the sun provides every day.

Even if you start small, building solar projects is very worthwhile. Every BTU of heat that you generate by solar is one less BTU you'll have to pay for. Your furnace or water heater will run less, your energy bills will decrease and you'll be a better steward with our precious planet!

But the best part is, this is a really fun hobby! There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling free hot air blowing out of your solar collector across your hands, heating your home or taking a nice, hot shower with water heated by your project!

Simply Solar is about brainstorming and sharing ways to implement solar heat easily, that anyone, regardless of DIY ability, can use to put money back in their pockets, green back in the environment and have a lot of fun along the way!

We also like to incorporate neighborhood friendly designs. Solar systems can be installed in very stealthy, "low profile" ways that your neighbors won't even notice!

Whether we discover some new ideas or rediscover some old ones, finding and sharing ways to make solar easy, practical, inexpensive and fun for everyone is what we are all about! If this excites you, please join us here at SimplySolar!

There are many solar projects that are very easy to build and we are eager to help you get started with yours! We've set the membership of the group to require approval to keep out spammers, but all are welcome. Please join us now!

This seemed like an excellent idea - until I thought about the heat conductivity of plastic pipes. My suspicion is the I'd need a really large network of

Re: Scott D's Thermal Storage Tank
Actually I think that depends on the type of eps chosen. There are at least 4 different types each with higher degrees of compression ratio strengths (40 psi,

Re: Scott D's Thermal Storage Tank
What about a network of schedule 40 PVC used as heat exchange ducts laid out and embedded in the concrete? You could size the pipe according to the thickness
