Simply Solar - easy to build, DIY, solar panel e-mail group. We've even been mentioned in Mother Earth News! http://tinyurl.com/4kyct6w

Brainstorming and building solar projects is fun! There are many solar projects that are easy and inexpensive to build, solar is great for the environment and saves you money too. It makes great common sense to take advantage of the clean, free heat that the sun provides every day.

Even if you start small, building solar projects is very worthwhile. Every BTU of heat that you generate by solar is one less BTU you'll have to pay for. Your furnace or water heater will run less, your energy bills will decrease and you'll be a better steward with our precious planet!

But the best part is, this is a really fun hobby! There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling free hot air blowing out of your solar collector across your hands, heating your home or taking a nice, hot shower with water heated by your project!

Simply Solar is about brainstorming and sharing ways to implement solar heat easily, that anyone, regardless of DIY ability, can use to put money back in their pockets, green back in the environment and have a lot of fun along the way!

Finding and sharing ways to make solar easy, practical, inexpensive and fun for everyone is what we are all about! If this excites you, please join our forum!

In just 52 months, our SimplySolar e-mail group grew from inception to nearly 2,500 members! I'm thrilled that folks are continuing to enjoy the group and find it useful, I love all the brainstorming, new ideas and enthusiasm.

It's all awesome, but we are outgrowing our e-mail format! The great news is that we now have our own solar forum where content is much better organized, topics are easier to find and since you can choose which topics to follow, you can control e-mail volume.

In addition to this e-mail group, please join us here:

Warmly,
Scott

Re: beginner instructions needed
Good for you Denise. Looks like you're headed toward energy independence by combining many alternatives. I am also using a combination of solar and wood heat

Re: beginner instructions needed
Anyone living north of the Mason Dixon Line usually spends more money to heat than to cool their house. Since you will be replacing windows give extra thought

Most of Egypt is like New Mexico, wide day/ night temperature swings. The cooling can be incorporated in the building design. In a nutshell you use the cool
