Description

The development of rocketry during the early 20th century allowed the physical exploration of space to begin. The first man-made object to be launched in space was the USSR's Sputnik 1, in 1957.

Human Spaceflight began with the launch of Vostok 1 on April 12th, 1961, carrying Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who took his place in history as the first human to leave the bounds of Earth and enter outer space

The first Moon landing was accomplished by the American Apollo 11 craft in 1969.

Let's note and discuss space initiatives, missions and launches, and consider future space mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and settlements.

Enjoy.
