Exhibitor Spotlight Special Offer - Xpherix Remo ™
Wireless Email Means Business on Everyday Handsets - Small and medium businesses today share the same need for productivity applications as their large business counterparts but they don't share the large IT resources or budgets. While most of us recognize the BlackBerry as the gold standard for wireless email, it is no surprise that less than 3% of enterprise users have wireless access to email/PIM on handheld devices. Most companies acknowledge the productivity gains that wireless access offers they cannot justify the device cost (of either BlackBerry devices or smart phones) or the IT support needed for additional servers and maintenance.
Recognizing the opportunity, Xpherix developed Remo ™, a low-cost mobile productivity application for secure access to user's contacts, calendar and email via standard mobile phones. With security configurations that meet the most stringent requirements, Remo provides the wireless access needed for mobile workers or for those who just need to stay connected in an easy to use, low-cost form factor.
As an exhibitor at the Enterprise Mobility Pavilion at CTIA (October 25-27, San Francisco), Xpherix is offering all subscribers a one-month free use of Remo. Remo is available on most CDMA wireless carriers including Verizon Wireless. Details can be found at http://www.iphonebook.net/CTIA.html
We encourage everyone to make sure that their colleagues and associates are on our mailing list to receive information on this year's Summit, Awards Ceremony, and other productions.
Will there be a Mac OS X Desktop that will integrate with the Symbian Series 60
SplashID?
Ideally, I would like to be able to integrate my Series 60 SplashID with my
desktop and my
Palm OS SplashID.
Thanks
Hi Matthias,
I've been working with you directly, correct? If not, please let me know.
For the rest of you on the list, Matthias was getting this error because
he's using a Siemens sx1. We're adding support for this device soon.

We’re pleased to release SplashID 3.1b6 with the following changes:
Phone:
Changed the beta expiration date to July 3, 2004.
Desktop:
Changed the path of the desktop data to C:\...\My Documents\SplashData\SplashID (From C:\...\My Documents\SplashID)
International characters are now sorted correctly in list view
Auto-sync preferences are store on a per-user basis.
Important note: We changed the location where the desktop data is stored. Before you install this update, export your desktop data as a backup (File > Export) and make sure your device is synced. When you install the update, and launch SplashID desktop, it’ll be empty. To repopulate the desktop with new data, just sync your device with a handheld overwrites desktop sync and your data will reappear. (Change the sync type in the Sync menu on SplashID desktop.)
If for some reason it doesn’t please import the data from the vID backup you made.
Hi Shawn,
You may need to download the latest beta, but the User Guide screenshots
should be of a series 60 device. (They were actually taken using a Nokia
3650).
Have you gotten it to sync yet? Are you getting an error when you try?
Please let me know.
We'll release a final version soon (and begin selling registration codes).
Regards,
Blaine

This appears to be fixed in a more recent build as I'm not able to reproduce
it on my Nokia 3650.

You'll be able to migrate your Palm data, but each platform will have a
separate desktop application. You'll be able to have a Palm and Series 60
installed simultaneously.

Not at this time. We'll consider it for a future feature.

Hi Guys,
I've used SplashID on my Tungsten|T (and m105 before that) for a
couple of years now. The series 60 version looks great (I'm using it
on my Nokia 6600), and will come in very handy. A couple of things
I've noticed and a few suggestions...
1. If I'm in an item and use "edit item" to edit it, if I scroll
left/right on the "type" field, the variable field names below start
overwriting each other, meaning if you've scrolled a few times, the
field names are unreadable. If I exit the edit mode and start again,
the field names are OK again.
2. Will I be able to sync the database with my Palm, or could I just
export the database direct? Will there be conflicts with having two
desktop applications (one for the Palm, one for the Phone)?
3. Is it possible to set fields as numeric input only? For things like
credit cards, having to press a key 4 times to reach the number can be
a pain. If you were able to force a field to be numeric input only,
entering numbers would be a whole lot easier.
From what I've seen so far, SplashID is going to be exactly what the
standard Nokia Wallet application should have been. I think you could
corner the market here.
The import feature will come with the desktop application. The handheld
version is pretty close, but the desktop sync will add a lot of
functionality.
Hopefully this helps.

Blaine
