Hi David,

There is not a search field in the Series 60 version, but it does have a
jumb-to feature. Just type a couple of letters to jump to the record you are
looking for.

I've just installed SplashID onto my Nokia N82. I am a long standing
(6 or 7 years) user on the Palm platform and am looking to make my
Palm redundant.

Once I've got my database open on the phone, I can't seem to find a
way to search for records. For e.g., if I want only Amex cards to show
up, I expect to be able to search for 'Amex' and have it show only
these records. Without a search function, in some of my bigger
categories (e.g. web logins), I am scrolling through dozens of items.

This seems like a major oversight. Before I was able to 'downgrade' my
SplashID db (i.e. from V4 to V3) using SplashID 4.12, I had tried
HandySafe and this has a find function.

Please let me know if I can expect this feature in the near future.

Thanks
David

To delete the existing database with the password protection, you need to
remove SplashID and reinstall.

I know it is long overdue, but we have added the ability to export a version
3.x vID file from the SplashID 4 Standalone desktop.

This enables you to upgrade the SplashID desktop to version 4 if you wish
and continue to use SplashID 3 on the Series 60 device.

You can download the update here:

http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/download/standalone.htm

If you wish to purchase the upgrade, it is $9.95:

I have this problem too.

I am happy to try the workaround however, now that I've set a password
I can't seem to get into SplashID on my phone to create a blank file.

Short of uninstalling and reinstalling, is there any way around this?

Thanks
David

Thanks for contacting us. This is a known issue with SplashID affecting all
Symbian 9 phones, such as:

- N95
- E51
- E90
- 6110
- 6120

We are going to be developing a fix for this soon (finally), but until then
you cannot set a password on SplashID.

One workaround that a user came up with:

Export your VID file from the SplashID desktop (with a password) and store
it on the phone.

Create a new record on the SplashID desktop and just put Blank in the first
field and save.

Select this Blank record in the list and export just the selected record.
Store this vid on the phone.

Do not set a password on SplashID for the reason above.

Whenever you want to view your data, import the secure vID file with all
records.

When you are done, import the blank vID file, replacing the data, and all
your sensitive data will be erased.

Thanks for contacting us.

We do not have any current plans for SplashMoney on Series 60, but we have
received a few requests for it, so we might do this in the future.

Hi. Is there any plan for a release of Splashmoney for Symbiam. I
recently bought a Nokia E51 and I would like to stop using my Palm
application, but I haven´t found anything like Splashmoney for my new
phone. Do you have plans about it?

I own a Nokia E90 Communicator with firmware 7.40.1.2 and I'm also
experienced the famous issue with SplashID for Nokia series 60 when
setting a password for the application (it closes as soon as you
enter the password on the first screen).

But I like SplashID so much that I've devised a way to overcome that
issue:

- I never set a password on SplashID for Nokia series 60.
- I've copied to my phone two different vID files, one with all the
real data (and password-protected), and another one with just one
fake record.
- Whenever I need to access my confidential information, I enter
SplashID on the phone and import the real vID file, overwriting all
data, and I know it is kept secure thanks to the password that I am
being asked.
- Once I've found what I was looking for, now I import the fake vID
file overwriting all data again, so that all confidential information
is erased again.

It's not as fast as using the application directly, but it's a nice
workaround while this issue is fixed.

Hope this will help someone. Regards,

David

Thanks for your feedback. We hope to update the Series 60 application
sometime next year to support version 4 vID files from the SplashID desktop,
and we will note your other feature requests.

Hi,

Previously I have treo 600 with splashid 3. It much faster than
splashid in my Nokia E61 or E61i.
Another problem, you have to use SplashID 3 to transfer to E61 using
CSV, unlike treo that you can simply sync.
If you use transfer data from SplashID4 and import to SplashID3, some
field is disappear, especially NOTE.

Some need to improve:
1. need to update SplashID for S60 to version 4, so no need to
downgrade SplashID Desktop to version 3
2. why splashid in E61 much slower than treo
3. number of character in NOTE field need to expand to triple than
current capacity

Hope SplashID support read my request

thanks

Yes, unfortunately SplashPhoto has not been updated to support the new

There is a graphical error in SplashPhoto when used on the E61i. The Nokia E61i
is a
320x240 landscape oriented display. When SplashPhoto is set to use either Large
or Small
thumbnails, the application is unable to fill the right side of the display, and
actually leaves a
ghost of whatever previous graphic was there before the thumbnail view was
rendered. In my
case, this is often a remnant of the application launcher, or the right edge of
pop-up menus.

Seeing as the application will not display any more than 3 Large thumbnails, or
4 small
thumbnails, I'm guessing that you are hardcoded to render this view on a screen
that is only
240 pixels wide? Using Detail or List view properly fills the screen, and there
is no graphical
error when viewing an actual image. This only occurs in Large and Small
Thumbnail view.

I have screenshots of the glitch if you would like to see them. I'll try to
post them in the
Photos section.

I have just installed "SplashID.S60-3rd.sis" version 3.33(9) onto my

It works fine until I add a password. When it is password protected

Thanks for contacting us.

The problem is that SplashID 4 data is not compatible with SplashID 3, which
is the version on the Series 60 device.

So you need to revert the SplashID desktop to version 3.4, but first, export
your data from version 4.

The version 4 vID format is not compatible with version 3. But you can
export to CSV instead:

File > Export > CSV

Then uninstall and install SplashID 3.4:

http://splashdata.com/Downloads/SplashID-Eval-Installer.exe

Then import that CSV file into SplashID Desktop Only 3.4, with one catch.
Any data entered in the additional fields of SplashID 4 will have no place
to go, so they are appended as additional records. You can delete them if
not needed, or copy and paste them into the notes field of the appropriate
record.

Hi,

I know: Synchronizing is not possible, you have to export the .vid
File from the standalone desktop version and import it in your phone
version.

So far so good.

But the downloaded SplashID Version for my E65 won't accept the .vid
which comes from the Standalone Desktop Version. (All Versions current
downloads this week from your website)

A few questions:

1.) are the .vids from Desktop Version 4.02 compatible with the
current S60 3rd Phone version?

2.) If yes, could the locale be a problem? On my phone the installed
version uses german while the desktop version is english. Despite a
FAQ entry regarding the installation of a different locale version of
the desktop the actual download options for such a different locale
eludes me.

3.) If no, where can I find a working Desktop Version 3.x? Please
Note: The download link in the install notes for the phone version
points to the current 4.02 standalone Desktop version, while the
download link directly below the download link for the phone versions
on the page http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/download/s60.htm points
to a file
http://www.splashdata.com/Downloads/SplashID-Standalone-3.32.exe.

But this file does nothing. I Double clicked it and nothing happens
(on a windows xp machine). On a Vista machine, I get the dark screen
and the user prompt for allowing an installation, but then again,
nothing happens.

The 4.o2 version installs just fine.

That would be VERY much appreciated.
Especially when the next move was converting SplashShopper to Syrian.

Dear group members,

I understand that the producers of SplashID read this group, so I'd
like to bring the following bug to your attention:

When in mode with closed screen (240x320) and any selection by Typ or
Category that results in an empty list, the screen is not updated and
shows crap.

With opened screen (800x352) the rows in the list are not displayed at
all (except the icon).

Further more I'd like to suggest that when only one Typ is selected,
the column titles should not be Field 1... but the field names defined
in the Typ defineition.

Thanks for you help.

Kind regards, Harald

Hi Rob,

Sorry, true sync does not exist for SplashID on Series 60 at this time. We
may develop a real synching solution in the future, and since that could
maybe happen as SplashID 4, it would be a $9.95 upgrade.
