... I second the vivitar, really nice flash with indicator of flash readiness and auto f8 for k64 and auto f11 for fujichrome 100! I use the Hama flash

Another happy Vivitar user here. Note that the current model is the 285HV, which has a lower trigger voltage, making it safe to use with electronic cameras.

I personally use an Olympus T20 flash (about $20 used) with a "filed down" Realist (and my RBT X4 SLR). This is a lightweight compact flash that uses two AA

Yes, DrDave is correct about the voltage issue. My adapter will let you use a flash without modifying the camera. It can also accept more than flash units

Sometimes simple is best. For the few flash stereos I shoot I've been using a pocket-sized Nikon SB-30 mounted on the camera with one of the little devices Dr.
