Now that it has happened to both of my computers, I am certain that the latest
Windows updates have caused jpegs to not open in Outlook Express. When it first
happened, I assumed that something must have corrupted a file. Discovered by
searching for a fix on the internet that others were having the same problem.
None of the suggested fixes solved the problem. So whenever I was sent a
picture via email, I would have to save it to my desktop to view it. Very
irritating and time consuming. Switched to the other computer where it WAS
working properly, but guess what..........once all the updates were applied,
that one started doing the same thing! So I have downloaded Mozilla's
Thunderbird program and am trying it. So far it is working very well, and I'm a
happy camper again. If you are having the same problem, why not click on the
Links here at this user site and download it for yourself. It works pretty much
like OE and will even transfer all your files and addresses from OE into
Thunderbird.
