Re: [SubminiatureVariations] Re: presentation

Hello Gerald,

Thank you for your help! Nevertheless, my camera is not the same as the one's
that you mentioned in your links. The body is similar, but there are great
differences, mine for example, has no serial nr. The film advance sytem now
works perfectly, but it is not linked to the shutter cocking machanism. The film
advance system only has a security against double exposures. All photavit
similar models that I saw over the internet do not have the Xenar lens, mine
focus at 0,7 m (I think) the others 1 m. Besides, mine is so cute as it is
red!!! EHEHEHEEH!

cameras or the Olympus Pen cameras. Nevertheless, last week I was in
germany and I could not resist to buy a Photavit camera, it was just
so cute! Trouble is, I have no idea of its age or its manufacturer.
Mine just says Photavit on top, it sports a 37,5/3,5 Xenar lens
(uncoated). The shutter is a Prontor II (Gauthier G.m.b.h. Calmbach)
with speeds from 1 to 250. The camera is in reasonable shape, covered
in red leatherette and it is complete with its leather case and the
special film cassettes. I amplanning to use this camera next weekend,
what sort of quality can I expect?

http://www.submin.com/35mm/manuals/index.htm
has an article on the Photoavit cameras.

the camera takes 24x24mm images, like the Agfa Rapid. The lens are
good and the results excellent.

http://www.submin.com/35mm/collection/photavit/cameras/index.htm
shows some models but I am sone way off making available further
information.

If you have figured out how the wind on mechanism works you have done
all that needs to be known. The film winds on allowing the shutter to
be cocked for the next frame. Without a film in the camera it can't
operate. You can move this manually.

Gerald
