This is good news for those earning over A$100K. The obvious downside
is that the rebate is only A$5/watt rather than A$8/watt.
I'm waiting for the AUD to rise up again then I'll purchase my panels
from the US to make it worthwhile for me. Panels are still at least
20-25% more expensive in Australia compared to the US (even after
converting AUD to USD). I put it down to the greedy importers/retailers
colluding together to take advantage of the Govt rebate and not pass it
all on to the consumer. Artificially inflating prices like this is known
as price fixing - something the petrol companies do all the time.
