This Saturday 4/26/08 you can enjoy the best of both worlds in Lewisburg at the Lewisburg Arts Festival:   a model train display, a ballroom dance demo,  . . .  plus . . .  if you're single, a singles dance that same evening.

Operating Model Train Display: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, 42 South 4th Street (just a smidgen south of 4th & Market)
More details below in E-N-C-L-O-S-U-R-E   A

Ballroom Dance Demonstration: 3 - 4 pm, at 3rd and Market
More details below in E-N-C-L-O-S-U-R-E   B
Please note the ballroom dance demo is NOT an open dance.
The dancers are a selected group from Tony Thomke's dance classes.  But all persons are invited  to watch.

Singles Dance:  8 pm, at Lewisburg American Legion
   Buffalo Road & Rt 15
More details below in E-N-C-L-O-S-U-R-E   C

Market Street is the main East-West street running through Lewisburg (Route 45).

Map

There is a PDF map  of the Market Street area, that is in the Map Directory
((The map file is LewisburgArtsFestival080426.pdf .  It's 252 K size, so I did not want to attach it due to its size.))
Note this map was made by Tony Thomke for his dance team, so ignore the "we'll be dancing" comments on it; they refer to his dance team only.
Note you should be able to ENLARGE (zoom in on) this map, if you open it with Adobe Reader or Apple Preview, or any PDF viewer.

Parking will be at a Premium, so it may be easier to use the Shuttle Bus Service which will depart every 10 minutes from the Parking Lot along Route 15 (McDonalds, Subway, Evangelical Hospital area).  There are three stops the shuttle makes. and I was told the first stop is Market and 3rd.

Attached is a map of the area where we will be dancing this weekend (Sat April 26th) at the Lewisburg Arts Festival.

<SNIP> . . .  dance at 3 PM Sharp!

Here is how I hope it will go:

1.  After a brief introduction and greeting, I will then proceed to introduce each dance style we will be demonstrating.

2.  I'll share tidbits of music from different songs....

3.  THEN I will invite the dance team onto the dance area and we will dance one song in each style:

Foxtrot:  Begin the Beguine  (on Foxtrot Class CD)

Waltz:  Instrumental 1 -- (the one I refer to in class as "Take her to Venice")

Swing:  In the Mood -- (had to be!)

Rumba:  Carry My All (instrumental) OR Michael Bublé's "The Way You Look Tonight" -- undecided at this time.  But, Carry My All is high in the ranking.

Cha Cha:  Dimelo OR A Place in the Heart OR Corazon Espinado .. haven't decided yet.

<SNIP> .

See you at the intersection of 3rd and Market Streets (Post Office)    <SNIP> .

Thank you to those attending!!!!  and helping us get Ballroom Dancing out there!

Good Ol' Tony

The big country music night! Denim is okay . . . so wear your country duds and come dance any style you wish: traditional fast, slow, or country, line, etc. This is NOT a square dance. Just another CPS themed dance with lots of country plus other song genera. Getting the idea now?  The Legion kitchen will be open until 9:00 p.m. Cash bar.  No smoking in dance hall.  You’ll enjoy hearing and understanding the country lyrics by “Digital JukeBox”.     Info: 570-394-1755 or 570-473-8498.
