There are a lot of parameters you need to set in CCDC. Some in the action and
some in the setup tabs. For example for a Plate Solve to succceed there are
things to set in the Plate Solve action (filter, time of exposure) but also
things to set in the Plate Solve setup tab (image scale, location of Pinpoint
files. And there are different options as to how to dither, what to do to
correct after a plate solve etc.
Your problem may well be in not having the correct, consistent set of boxes
ticked in those menus. There is a CCDC group.
Working on CCDC or CCDAutopilot or another automation program and getting
familiar with it is well worth it. These programs save you a lot of time in the
long run and let you do things (refocus at regular intervals through the night)
that you just won't do if you image manually.
