INSTITUTIONAL
RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Inver Hills
seeks a temporary part-time research specialist to assist the Director of
Institutional Research in collecting and analyzing data and writing reports for
grant-funded projects.

Temporary part-time July, 2009 – August, 2009
The incumbent
is expected to work on campus M-F during regular operational hours, 8:00 a.m.
– 5 p.m.
Pay
Range: $16.41- $23.74 an hour
Responsibilities:
Collect and
analyze data for participants in grant-funded projects:
Pull initial
queries for four (4) cohorts of students in various courses;
Run queries
regarding demographics and success measures;
Set up and run
queries for more in-depth analysis of subgroups;
Analyze results
and discuss with Director of Institutional Research and other campus
stakeholders
Write reports
to communicate results, including tables for internal and external audiences.
Minimum
Qualifications:
College or
graduate coursework in research or statistics;
Experience in
using databases, spreadsheets, and graphical and statistical analysis software
(i.e. SPSS, SAS) for research purposes;
Experience
using Microsoft Access;
Experience and
skill in data collection and data integrity;
Experience and
skill in research and analysis techniques;
Skill in
written communication and preparation of materials and reports;
Detail oriented
and able to be self-directed.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Completed
post-secondary degree with coursework in research or statistics;
Intermediate to
advanced experience using Microsoft Access, including experience querying
databases.
