Hi everyone-
I need some help. I have a Canon EOS50, and have downloaded the software
(upgraded from a EOS40). I have Elements 7.0. I am now shooting in RAW for the
first time. When downloaded to my computer, the files came over with a .CR2
extension. Elements cannot open this. What do I do now???
Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the information. But that raises another question. If I cannot access my files in CR2 to edit, then what is the advantage of taking the photos in...

Hi Mike, Let's start from the beginning. First, when you said you "downloaded the software" I assume you meant the Canon software that came with the camera....

Mike, Anida: Hutch is right on target here with a great description. Even if you bought Photoshop Elements recently, it could have been packaged long before...

The raw format gives you the greatest possible range of data in the photo, from there you can edit and change to a lower format, but you always save the raw...
