Re: TE Document structure error

Dear Jerry, Gunnar,
Thank you for your help. It turns out I had changed something in the source
Excel file. So I deleted that file, saved the original Excel file attachment
from my client's e-mail and worked from that Excel file, being careful not to
translate the page names, and I followed Gunnar's instructions regarding the
Save as target and Save as bilingual. However, I still get the structure error
message. What else could have I done wrong?
I'm also unsure when comes the time to Save as. Do I save as exactly under the
same name or do I give the document a different name? It's a 10 page document,
and it takes about 20 minutes to save; is that normal?
I think I'm becoming paranoid.
Johanne

It's likely that format/content of Source is inconsistent with bilingual ttx files. E.g. you deleted some contents in Source excel before translating, and you...

Hi, You open the Excel, and save as bilingual = as a ttx-file. That is the file you work in, that you open and close during the translation (if it is a...

Gunnar, do you know if when saving the TTX as a target, if the TM is updated at the same time? I ask this because when making my final changes, I don't always...

Hi, I do not think so. That is why I always clean up the .ttx after saving as target. Note that "cleaning" a .ttx file does NOT clean it, you still have the...

I always do a final "translate to fuzzy" before the "save target as". Quite often, that finds alleged "new translation units", not very many, but it always...
