Easily print digital photos and quickly create photo web pages and slideshows
Hello! I am building a web page with Talaphoto that includes photos
from an iPhone as well as photos from my Leica D-Lux 3. I was thrilled
to see that you can auto-enter text from the IPTC caption info, which
I embed with Photomechanic, but Talaphoto is only picking up the
captions from the iPhone photos and not the Leica's - any ideas why or
how to fix?
thanks!

Thanks VERY much - that did it!

Hi Sarah
The TalaPhoto Stuff folder is now located within the TalaPhoto
application bundle. This is the Apple recommended approach for
including all application resources within a single file.
Here's how to locate the TalaPhoto Stuff folder on OSX:
- Right click (Control-click) on the TalaPhoto application icon in the Finder
- Choose Show Package Contents from the menu
- Open the Contents folder
- Open the Resources folder
- Open the TalaPhoto Stuff folder
- Place your custom images in the Web Backgrounds folder
- They will be available in the Web Designer Backgrounds tab the next
time to start TalaPhoto
- You may also want to remove any background images that you never
plan to use to reduce the size of the backgrounds tab.
Previous TalaPhoto versions had a TalaPhoto Stuff folder next to the
TalaPhoto application. That folder is no longer used and may be
deleted if desired.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Joe

Hello!
I found the below info in the Talaphoto help menu, but after adding my
own jpegs to the Applications/Talaphoto/Talaphoto stuff/Web
Backgrounds folder - they are still not showing up in the web
backgrounds menu. Any ideas?
Here's what "help" said:
"How do I use my own web background images?
"TalaPhoto selects images to be used as the background for your web
pages from the Web Backgrounds folder. Place your own GIF files or
JPEG images there to be included in TalaPhoto's list of web
backgrounds. Your images can be any size since they will be tiled by
the web browser to fill your page."
Thanks!
SARAH
Thanks for your thoughts however I got a software fix from TalaPhoto
that took care of the problem - they were very responsive and saved me
much time.

Hi Vic, If you are talking about what I think you are, I use to have the
same problem then I
realized even though it goes back to the beginning in the upper right
box where it previews
the show there is a slider bar under the picture that you can then move
to the point of the
show you want to watch from.....
I hope this helps,

Hi Vic
Thanks for writing.
It sounds like you're getting bit by a bug that crept into the latest
version of TalaPhoto for Windows due to a change in one of the tools
we use to build TalaPhoto. In that case the Musictime Preview feature
always starts from the beginning of the movie instead of at the
playhead point. Is that what you're seeing?
If you can confirm that you are indeed using the windows version, I
can send you an updated copy that fixes this problem.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Louis
TalaPhoto has a watermark facility which lets you easily add text
onto your images. Open up the PhotoShow Tool palette and you'll see
the Text Watermark options at the bottom of that window. Use the
popup menu to select what text you want placed in each watermark and
use the two links to select the text style and position on the slide.
TalaPhoto will then automatically add the text to each slide as it
builds your slideshow.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Joe

Could you please email me any necessary info I might need? (passwords,

Hi Peggy,
Sorry for this, but I am the only one in my company, and itıs not from me!
I use this software, and I guess my email must have got grabbed from a

oops!
I have easily located the neans to efficiently import
I gather u must have iPhoto accessable open for this to happen. When I made this
so I was
away laughing
Cheers TalaPhoto for making this so user friendly

I wish to access iPhoto albums but I cannot locate the albums names that i
created - all I can
see is a lot of dates and film roll numbers
Anyone help me to make TalaPhoto more user friendly
Thanks Graham E
Recently several TalaPhoto users asked how to burn a Photo Movie onto
a DVD for viewing on a standard TV set. This is very easy to do using
iDVD on a Mac, just drag your Photo Movie into iDVD's workspace, or
into the AutoPlay box in the map view.
I strongly recommend upgrading to iDVD 6.0 which is part of the new
iLife 6 suite introduced last week. iDVD 6.0 solves several problems
found in prior versions.
Windows users should also be able to burn Photo Shows onto DVDs using
any DVD authoring software that can import QuickTime movies. From
their specs it looks like either Sonic's MyDVD Suite 6.1 or Sony's
Movie Studio + DVD should do the job. Sony provides a free eval while
Sonic offers a 30 day money back guarantee.
I'd appreciate hearing about any DVD authoring software you've used
to successfully burn a TalaPhoto Photo Movie onto a DVD.
Thanks,
Joe
PS It's also very easy to move a Photo Movie onto your Video iPod.
Just open your Photo Movie in QuickTime Pro, and use the Export
command to save it in iPod compatible or MPG4 format.
Would iPod video export be a useful feature to have built into TalaPhoto?

hello:
I have two questions:
1. Is there anyway to make the size of the thumbnails smaller?
2. I would like the resolution of my final images to be 72 dpi...can
tala photo do this, or do i need to adjust the images in photoshop
first?
thanks!

TalaPhoto now sorts alphanumerically when loading images
I've had several requests recently for TalaPhoto to sort filenames
alphanumerically when importing groups of image files. Some wedding
photographers would have a group of 400 images with the digits 0-400
embedded in the filenames and they prefer to have the images
automatically ordered in TalaPhoto that same way.
So I posted TalaPhoto version 2.6.9 which does a much better job
figuring out the proper alphanumeric ordering.

Happy New Year to everyone. It's been a good year for Talasoft.
TalaPhoto has grown in popularity and been adopted site wide by
several schools across the country.
Kevin Kubota's classes and books for professional photographers now
use TalaPhoto to streamline movie creation and contact sheets. The
quick turnaround after a photo shoot is winning new business for his
clients. Check out his very insightful book, "Digital Photography
Boot Camp" A step-by-step Guide for Professionals.
TalaPhoto 2.6.7 was posted today and includes new features and
important bug fixes. All users should download this version.
* Improved image load speed
* Annotations for MultiPrint contact sheet images
* Extended EXIF support for manufacturer specific info
Extensive camera info for Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax
Displays GPS info if present
* PhotoMovie enhancements
Movies automatically start during playback
Can automatically show in fullscreeen mode (aka presentation style)
Fixed bug where long empty space prevented burning in iDVD
* WebDesigner supports user editable HTML templates
* Fix problem launching on some Windows systems
* Site Licensing capability
You can get the new version using TalaPhoto's builtin downloader, or

I created my slideshow, in Talaphoto, with music about 10 minutes long, but when
it opens
in Quicktime it will play my 10 minute slide show but there is another 5 hours
of just a blank
white screen. How do I get rid of this?? Please help if you know, thanks~
TalaPhoto now has a settable cropping policy for each view to control
the scaling of each image within the frame. It can automatically crop
to fill the frame or set just the right zoom factor to show all of
your images without any cropping.
And iPhoto users can now import their albums and photos directly into
TalaPhoto for even easier project creation.
I posted TalaPhoto 2.6 today with these new features.
* New croping policy for loading new images
- Cropping policy settable for each view
- RefitAll menu command will re-layout all images in a project
- RestoreDefaultView command in the image editor's popup menu
* New Preference setting to control the arrow key behavior
* Fixed bug where a PhotoShow without music didn't build properly
Plus the recent 2.5.1 update added:
* New iPhoto integration!
- Import entire iPhoto albums or selected photos
- Drag photos from iPhoto to a TalaPhoto project
- Copy and Paste iPhoto images
* Save MultiPrint settings
* Handle 8 bit greyscale images
* Show preview in OSX Column view
Download the latest version for Mac OSX, Mac Classic or Windows here:
