This group is for those who have an interest in the Tandy 1000 series of computers. This series was retired when Windows 3.x came out as they were not well suited to running it. They were, however, quite interesting and unique, being able to run almost all PC Jr. software and almost all PC software. They had enhanced video and audio, a nice keyboard and other good features. Tandy had a DOS program called Deskmate which came with these, which had all the basic functions of Works (Lotus or Microsoft). They are becoming collectible, but can still be found for very modest prices - such as one penny! Also feel free join us if you have a Tandy 2000, or any of the small portables Tandy produced that don't run Windows 3.x or above. For later models, you would be probably be better served by a PC group but you are still welcome.
A ROM *drive* can't...but the RAM chip containing that data could be replaced. I know you used to be able to get ROM burners that you could use to write data
A rom drive cant be cleared it can be fried which your motherboard wont work if the rom chip is burnt but if the battery isnt replaced you cant access the rom
