Re: [TemperatureLoggers] Hotbox on Windows XP

Hi Mark

I have seen an issue with Explorer. Ensure that there is nothing looking at c:\hotbox when hotbox starts. Hotbox wants exclusive access to the c:\hotbox folder and Explorer "does something" when a pane is open on a folder.

Keep us informed

Nick

Subject: [TemperatureLoggers] Hotbox on Windows XP

Hi All

I am a new member to the forum and have come across anotherurl.com. I
have built the PIC Arbiter and it works fine (great piece of kit). I
wish to use it to measure water temperatures at key points on a solid
fuel heating system. I have used Hotbox on an old windows98 machine
but I have not been able to get it to work on Windows XP Home Edition
with service pack 2. I have a USB to serial device and hyperterminal
recieves the dataframes. When Hotbox.exe is clicked, the application
does not appear to run (I have quitted hyperterminal) with no hotbox
folder or hotbox.ini file being created. Can anybody help me with any
suggestions that I can try.

I look forward to any responses

Thanks

Mark Ward
