Dear TJUG Friends,
I am a software developer living in the U.S. and plan to visit
Thailand in February. My work is mainly Java, but I am also very
interested in Ruby (www.ruby-lang.org). (I can provide more
information about myself if you're interested.) My goals are to
network with you, my colleagues, for business and friendship, and to
research the possibility of working in Thailand someday. In addition,
if there is enough interest, I may write an article about software
development in Thailand, so if you are interested in a little fame I
may be able to help out. :)
I'd like to visit and/or learn about universities, businesses, and
other organizations using Java and open source software. Also, I
would love to meet other software engineers in Thailand and other
countries. My hope is that the exchange of expertise and culture
would benefit all of us. It would be nice to create our own little
microcosm of world peace and brotherhood in this crazy world.
I am an active member of the Northern Virginia Java User Group.
(Northern Virginia is a suburb of Washington, D.C.) Feel free to
check out our mailing list,
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/novajug/. My id there is
"krbennettmd".
If you would be interested in meeting, please let me know. Maybe we
could have a group meeting. If the group is not too large, I'd be
happy to host a dinner meeting. Also, if you can suggest anything to
help me reach my goals, I would appreciate that too.
Regards,
Keith Bennett
