don't recall--old age--if I sent this before. It's an, excellent, prog to clean-up crap. I have been using it for a, few, months now and it's free. It was given me by a savvy, girl, Microsoft tech from Hindustan...I've decided to send them $20...You can download it from the link: "CleanUp! 4.5.2"

Thanks for the info Cyndi... I will have to do some investigating and see what I can learn. I have always had AT&T for my landline. The last time they were out working on my phone (rabbits chewed threw the underground line where it comes into the house)... they told me all the technology is in place, but they have no one who can hook it all up????
Now they are advertising the new hi speed wireless on TV for only 19.99 with no land line required. Going to check into that too.
But as of the last time I checked AT&T wireless phones were not available in this area. Only Altell/Verizon available in this area.
So am thinking the same will apply for that. *sigh*

I am wondering why some of the emails I recieve, I am unable to fwd to other friends?
I have Norton and when I try to fwd some not all,the wheel barrell in the Norton toolbar blinks but the email will not fwd.

--------------------
Do these emails contain attachments? It sounds like Norton has its security set to tight. Although one would think if it found the email suspicious it would have blocked it from entering your computer instead..
If you are using Norton's Antispam software add your freinds to the safe list.. Disable the email scanning in Norton antivirus. As I said it should have caught anything suspicious on it's way in..
Your email should send just fine then.

Hi Nancy,

How's the garden doing?  Great I hope.  It has to be doing better than mine. Range cows walked through it the other night. What they didn't eat, they trampled.

I have a problem with a Microsoft update.

Update to .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 for the .NET Framework Assistant 1.0 x86 (KB963707)
will download but the installation fails.

When I go look at the history and click on the failure icon it says
"Installation Failure  Error Code 0x8007064C"

I attempted to enter the error code into "Find Solutions" with "Sorry, no results found" for a search.

So here I am asking for help.  Any idea's?

Then see Resolution Method 2 in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100

all .NET Framework versions manually using the download links on the page.

I own a small business very small. I have no payroll or tax reports to figure ever. All my income is 1099. I do have to invoice every thing I do to the different entity I work under contract for. I have Quickbooks but it seems really difficult for me to get around in and do anything but my invoices.  I have hired countless people to come into my home office and use QB to keep up with my posting to general ledger and balance my bank accounts. I guess my question is ... is there any QB learning software for dumb A##'s like me to figure out how to do this myself? QB tutorials are just as difficult for me as the software is. I simply don't understand what it is asking or asking me to do.

Gary,

I've found several tutorials on metacafe.com have been very helpful to me.  They walk you through step-by-step visually. I found one helpful with powerpoint presentations and I learned how to use Windows Movie maker. Maybe one on this page will help you. Hope so. There's even one called "How to Issue an Invoice in QuickBooks Tutorial. Good luck! Hope this helps.

Hi, Nancy and friends,

My 5 year old Dell computer currently has a 150GB C: drive (NTFS) with about 18GB of used space. I also have a 250GB D: drive (NTFS) with 50GB of used space. They are not RAID configured, and I have not compacted any files. I have Windows XP Pro and all of my programs installed on the C: drive, and use the D: drive only for data storage—documents, photos, music, etc.

I am considering downloading Windows 7's Release Candidate (the Ultimate version, from what I understand) and its "XP mode" module (which is what I'm most interested in), but the download page says:
"If you're running Windows XP or the Windows 7 Beta, you'll need to backup your data, then do a clean installation of the RC, then reinstall your applications and restore your data."

I can understand backing up my data; I have a 750GB external drive for that. What I'm wondering is: can I partition off an unused section of my C: drive, keep my XP and programs where they are without reinstalling, and install 7 on the new partition? If you think this is a possibility, what steps do I need to take to partition the drive—preferably without losing what's already there?

Also, if I can partition it, will I need to load all my programs on the Win7 section to test their performance with that OS, or can I boot in Win7 and still test programs while they're installed on the XP section?

I've read your past posts about partitioning, but either they talk about partitioning with Vista or they concern drives that are already partitioned. I apologize if I've missed one that talks about this specifically.

I've never partitioned before, so detailed instruction for XP, or a web address containing such, would be wonderful!
:)

Thanks so much for your help with all these questions!

Hi Nancy,
My ISP decided to change our mail over to Google mail. I use Out Look Express and since the change, I can no longer zip and mail anything. It zips fine, but the window to send the mail has no send button. I've tried every button on the tool bar and I can not find a way to send the mail. Today I did notice in the "Help" that it says something about Microsoft Office Outlook. How can I get my zips to be mailed like they use to be, before the change over to Google mail? I have never used Microsoft Office Outlook, that I know of. I've attached a screen shot of how the mail looks.
No name computer, with Windows XP Home Edition.
Thanks for any help,
Vonda
