Description

I'm Bill Akins the director of The Warbird Recovery Team.

The Warbird Recovery Team's goal is to research, document, locate, recover, preserve and display aviation archaeology artifacts that are underwater or land crash sites. When military human remains are found we contact and cooperate with military forensic teams to repatriate war dead.

We believe by raising warbirds from underwater or land sites and safeguarding these soon to be lost to corrosion pieces of history,

that we are preserving that history for future generations.

Herein you will find interesting files, links, pictures, articles, letters, and research towards the locating and recovery of Warbird aviation artifacts.

Many people are involved with endeavors like this and many to thank. Fellow member Bob Widner has been especially helpful with

his knowledge of aviation accidents in Fl. Bob may be the most knowledgeable man alive with the largest private archive of research concerning warbird crash

sites in Florida. Check out his site under "Links".

As a diver, I am especially interested in underwater aviation archaeology and you will see many pictures of just that here, along with articles on methods used

to stabilize and preserve recovered sunken aviation artifacts.

There are some crash sites that I limit the info I make public here due to crash site security reasons.

Special notice!!! No spam or advertisments will be allowed to be posted or sent as e mails to our members without the specific permission of myself. If it is aviation oriented then send me a personal e mail and perhaps

we can include it then. But NO SPAM OTHERWISE! If I find someone has joined our group just to get our e mail addresses and send us spam, I will delete and ban them immediately from this group. Group moderator Bill Akins
