Dear Peter,

The month of August-2006 has been generous with the QUANTUM RING THEORY

 

After the ARPES experiment, now it is an astronomical phenomenon that corroborates a hypothesis of the QUANTUM RING THEORY

 

Dark matter, the elusive stuff that makes up a quarter of the universe, has been seen in isolation for the first time.

According to the report, perhaps the discovery puts an end in the controversy about the existence of the dark matter.

What the astronomers have photographed was a collision between two galaxies, with speeds 40.000km/s.

 

However it is not only the confirmation of the dark matter itself that surprises us in this new scientific discovery.  Also it is surprising the behavior of this dark matter, shown in the astronomical observation

 

According to the photos exhibited, and the description of the report, the dark matter would have the behavior similar of a passenger, without safety belt, within a car that suffers a collision:  the passenger is thrown ahead, against the windscreen.

In the cosmic collision, while the ordinary matter that compounds the galaxies suffered a brusque braking in its motion, the dark matter however has continued its motion, leaving away at back the ordinary matter.

 

Let us see what connection such phenomenon can have with one hypothesis of QUANTUM RING THEORY.

 

In the paper MICHELSON-MORLEY EXPERIMENT FOR PROTON (which belongs to the QUANTUM RING THEORY) it is described a new version of the old Michelson-Morley experiment.

In this new version the beam of light of the old Michelson experiment is replaced by a beam of protons, and the Michelson's interpherometer is replaced by a crystal.

 

In the paper it is shown that such new experiment contradicts the de Broglie's interpretation for the duality wave-particle.

That is, if the duality should REALLY be an inherent property of the matter, as proposed by de Broglie, then in this new version of Michelson-Morley experiment THE PROTONS CANNOT HAVE THE DUALITY PROPERTY

 

OBS:  experiments already have been made with electrons in several parts of the world, repeating the Davison Germer experiment.  If the duality should be a property of the matter, like proposed by de Broglie, then the electron would have to exhibit different wavelengths when the measures should be made in different laboratories.   In a laboratory in which the electronic gun points out to the same direction of the Earth's translation motion the electron wavelength would be different of another wavelength obtained in other laboratory in which the electronic gun points out to the contrary direction of the Earth motion (according to the de Broglie's interpretation).

 

But the experiments have shown that the electron's wavelength is always the same, independent of the laboratory.

 

The Davison-Germer experiment would give the same result only if in the whole laboratories of the world all the electronic guns should be aligned in the same direction (accoding to de Broglie's interpretation)

 

.In the QUANTUM RING THEORY it is shown that the duality wave-particle can be kept in the Michelson-Morley experiment for prótons only if we consider the following hypotheses:

 

1)  The duality wave-matter is a property of the helical trajectory of the elementary particles (Zitterbewegung)

 

2) The space is fulfilled by two sort of ethers, one stationary gravitational ether, and other magnetic, which is dragged by the motion of the planets and stars.

 

This magnetic ether, dragged by the planets and stars, seems to be that dark matter caught  by the photography of the galaxies collision.

 

OBS:  starting from 1918 Einstein wrote some papers trying to bring back to Physics the concept of ether, as describes Kostro in Einstein's New Conception of the Ether, Proc. Conference "Physical Foundations of Relativity Theory",  Imperial College, London , M.C. Daffy, British Soc. for the Philosophy of Science

 

According to Kostro's article, Einstein had proposed two ethers:

 

The ether for the special relativity:  "The related ether is rigid, flat and infinite. Its metric is pseudo-Euclidean".

 

The ether for the general relativity: "This ether is no longer rigid and flat. Its metric is pseudo-Riemannian"
