Special issue on nature-based tourism

The Association of Icelandic Geographers is happy to announce that the 25^th volume of our journal Landabréfið is now in print, and that a new journal website has been opened. This time we publish a Special Issue on Nature-based Tourism – an academic output of the international and interdisciplinary conference “Practicing Nature-Based Tourism” held in connection with the exhibition “Without Destination” at the Reykjavik Art Museum early in 2011. Guest Editor of the special issue is Dr. Gunnthora Olafsdottir. All papers are written in English and are available in open access at the journal’s website: http://landfraedi.is/landabrefid/.

The primary goal of the publishers of Landabréfið – Journal of the Association of Icelandic Geographers is to support scholarly research and provide a forum for critical debates about matters of geographical nature. The journal publishes original geographical research as well as other information and news that are of interest to the geographical community. As numerous issues have a geographical dimension, the journal welcomes submission of articles from across the disciplines. All refereed papers are subjected to peer review according to academic standards. The journal also publishes book reviews, discussions, announcements and news of conferences from the local and international (geographical) community.
