Magic Jack this that thing you see on late night TV. It is a small box
that plugs into your computer USB port. You need high speed internet to
use, dialup won't work. You then plug in a regular phone to the magic
jack and you can make local and long distance phone calls over the
internet. The Magic Jack cost $39.99 at places like radio shack or
Walmart and then you pay $20 each additional year.
LD is long distance.

Magic Jack is a Voice over IP solution for telephone calls. You can read
about it at their web site and a number of other places on the web.

www.magicjack.com

LD is long distance.... as in charges for calls outside a local calling
area on standard POTS (plain old telephone system)

I've not see or found by searching, any bonus codes for a 30min/30days
card or the 1 Year of Service - No Minutes "Card".
As best I know both of these are internet only offers.

I have over a half ton of minutes on my phone and adding the 30/30 and
the 1 year of time seems least expensive. Have 2-3 years worth of
minutes on this phone. Life changed when I got Magic Jack for my LD.

Also the Samsung as capabilities of changing the shortcut keys - so you
could make one of them a sound profile button. With the sound profile you
have normal, silent, driving, and outdoors (which is both ringing and
vibrate call notification)

Most of the higher end LG and Samsung phones allow special ringtones for a
contact or group of contacts (Or anyone in your contact listing etc.)

The Samsung T301G does not have a speaker phone button on the side, only a
set of up and down speaker volume buttons- if you use the buttons to go all
the way to 0 then it is in vibrate or silent mode without using the menu
for the sound profile. You can do a single button on the T301G for silent
by opening the keypad and holding down the # key.

The LG usually have a speaker phone button, but I do not know the specific
models- it usually is showing the speaker icon )) type of single button...
Also many of the LG's have a * key that when held down put the phone into
what they call manner mode (silent - vibrate)....

DMFL will not transfer to a new phone. It is DMFL of the phone and stays
with the phone. If you call it, and someone answers before shutting it off,
then they have a phone with your DMFL... Soa any phone you purchase with
higher end features (Camera phone, bluetooth, etc.) most always has DMFL
included now.

If you want a entry level phone, then plan on having to get a card and add
it. But if there are sales on phones like the 376 that would be much
cheaper if you want GSM coverage reporting prices lower than the dmfl card
by itself.

Well, to tell you the truth, I do not know that part. My original phone was
DMFL and free incoming text messages.

I picked this phone up at Big Lots (it is the cheapo V170) and the package did
not say anything. Of course, I still thought I would find my old phone ---which
I may someday before I die---so I didn't worry about the DMFL. I have about a
years worth of time and minutes so I don't have to sweat it until next year.
the worst part was re-entering all the contacts--that took FOREVER!

So that would make it like Senior Day for everybody, but you could only get one
15% off item per each trip through checkout.

I'm waiting for Santa Bucks coupons. Hopefully they will have a good one, like
$20 or $25 off on a 99.97 item, or $5 off a $19.97 item. Those work great for 60
minute or one year time cards. $15 plus tax isn't as good as a two-fer, but it's
the closest thing I've seen in the last year. (my dad used four of those $5
coupons last year to get 360 days of service for $64 with tax)

I did the same thing a month or so ago. I called in to Tracfone CS after I got
a new phone and charged it. For some reason that I find strange, the cs person
wanted me to guess how many minutes and how much time I had on the phone. I
told her I knew I had added time recently but I was not sure how much of it I
had used. We went around and around until she told me to "GUESS"!! Well, I
guessed and then she told me the amounts. she had it in front of her the whole
time. Seems dumb to me. Anyway, the new phone was ready to go with all my time
re-established within one 15 minute conversation.

I lost my phone last year. You should not have a problem.  Call TF and they
will transfer your number to a new phone.  Hopefully you have your serial
number.  That makes the process of turning off the lost phone easier.
Now...if you have been following this group you know that writing down your
parameters from time to time (*#0 and *#30) is important.  Just go and buy
another phone and do a transfer.  But if you don't have these numbers call
Tracfone and they will get you going again.  You will have to wait around 2
weeks for TF to confirm the due date and minutes for the lost phone. I have the
Motorola W376 and it is a pretty good phone and it's on sale in Radio shack and
some Sears stores this week.  Good luck.

Well it happened today.Hiking in the mountains the phone fell out the
bottom of my fanny pack holder. It was an LG225 so for the guy looking
for a charger for me DON't but thank you.Now what do I do? If I report
it lost to TF will I be able to transfer my # and minutes and time (had
over a years service left) to a new TF I purchase?I was going to get rid
of TF for Straight talk but then they came out with the 1500 min card?
and my phone had DMFL so that was like 6 cents a minute plus my time of
service I was going to keep TF.

If someone needs that many minutes, wouldn't he or she be better off with

a Tracfone is a disaster waiting to happen. Be prepared to lose your investment.

Walmart.com now has all denomination of airtime cards on their site. Using Bing
Cashback you will get 10% from Bing for purchases from Walmart.com.

Go to Bing.com and search for Walmart Acer. You will see the link with the
cashback logo at the top of the list.

Coinstar has a current promo of a free $10 gift card when you turn in at least
$40 in coins at their coin counting machines. They do not charge a counting fee
if you purchase prepaid items instead of getting cash for your coins. I do not
know if this applies to Airtime purchases or not. They only offer 60 min for
$20, 120 min for $30 & 450 min for $80. If they offered the 200 min card for $40
I would try it out to see if the free gift card applied.

Woody,

The use of other sites is really easy. You need to quit leaving money on
the table. I just got my refund last week from my 1 year card and phone
when they had triple the normal refund. Brought my cost down to around $76
with the tax and everything. You would have been $99.95+tax less the $3 so
say $102 or there about depending on the tax rate for your state. Then the
rebate would eventually be processed to give you another $8 or 9 dollars back.

Or do a purchase of a minutes card on the Tracfone web site directly and
then select the - supersize options, one of which should be 1 year of
service only offered. JMart and a few others can probably tell you the
price for that option, but it would be the smallest number of minutes
without having to risk using a VA purchased phone and risk activating and
transferring the free minutes and service time.

Last week ordered an extra LG200C. I like to have a second phone of one
I'm using, for second battery mostly.
The LG200C comes with a free Accessory Kit. But there is currently a
coupon for a free kit and a coupon for $3 off price of a phone. Wanted
to see if I could make it all work together.
When I went to order they had an offer of the 200C and kit and a 1 year
card for the price of the the card. $99. The phone & free kit alone is
$20. I need mins like I need a hole in head but it was a good deal in my
mind.
So I ordered online the phone and 1 year card... added the bonus for the
$3 off, accepted, then added the number for the free kit, accepted.

I waited... got the package by fedex yesterday. 1 phone, 1 card and 2
accessory kits. Free shipping, $96 plus my state tax.

Instructions... "Add your preferred phone to your cart, then use code
88160 when you check out to get the free accessory kit added to your
order. DO NOT add the $14.99 kit to your cart on your own. You can also
use code 23444 for a $3 discount in conjunction with the free accessory
kit code – just enter one code in the discount box, click submit, then
enter the next code, click submit again, then proceed with your checkout."

Bet you could do better using another site to go to TF but I haven't
learned those yet.

I see lots of ads for TF on the internet as I read online papers, etc.
In the last week I've seen TF info-mercial on cable. Talking up TF and
the Moto 376g. It's a 30 min show I believe.

Some interesting things I think I heard... For calling Canada or Mexico
calls you can ask TF for a local number there and you family/friends can
call that number for free and get your US TF. Course you are charged
minutes.
Talked about features of the 376g and how to use.
Wish I could see it when not half asleep.

My Moto 376g is due for more days of service in a few weeks. I have over
1000 minutes on it from an earlier transfer. I use few minutes, or in
spurts. 1000 could last couple years.

-I've signed up for the Value Plan of automatic service extension. 30
Days is $5.99 plus my state tax (high). I pay only if I go beyond my
service date and haven't added a card. No days on this plan but one can
buy buckets of mins and with my DMFL is around $.10 plus my tax. Approx
$72 per year.
-Next option is buy online and add the cheapest card $9.99 for 30 min/30
days and then add the 1 year no min. card for $50. $60 for both.
-Or just do 60 min/90 cards 4 times a year for $80.
-Could add the 1 year card for $99 but then I'd have over 2000 minutes.
In theory I think this card is the cheapest for both min/days.
Don't live near a VA hospital and want to keep using the 376 as it's a
pretty good phone.

Price wise the 30 days card and the 1 year no min. card seems cheapest,
but am I missing anything?

Woody, I believe you and Richard are correct. The time for a new text is removed
from your balance when you select to read it, but TF's promos are always
displayed as soon as you open the phone. Thanks, guys!
