Good morning....
By way of introduction, I'm Jerry, and I recently purchased a
MacBookPro and purchased a copy of TurboCAD 3D (for OS/X, not Windows)
to use on it.
I'm curious whether others on this list are using TurboCAD for the
Mac. I'm used to using both CadRail and VectorCAD/CAM in the Windows
world to generate train layouts and also mechanical drawings and
G-Code for my desktop CNC Sherline mill.
I've found the documentation that IMSI provides for TurboCAD for the
Mac to be a tad lacking when it comes to working with 3D. As a current
project, I'm attempting to draw a band platform that we will be
building for our church's contemporary worship. I thought that this
project would be simple enough to use as a learning tool as well as to
get some useful work done. I've got part of a wire-frame drawing drawn
in Vector, and can export this to a DXF formatted file and open it in
TurboCad. All of the lines are at Z=0. I'd like to extrude some of
these lines into shapes that are 15" tall (Z=15) and 7 1/2" tall
(Z=7.5) to show some steps. Where should I start? It's not too
difficult to do in Vector, but I'd like to learn how to do it in TCad.
Are there any decent books available?
Thanks,
