Usually its just to make money. And the sad thing is there are very
few ways to stop that sort of stuff right now. Spam isn't limited to
any one sort of genre or subject. I've seen it on alot of different
message boards and groups. It's just monetary reasons. They hope
someone clicks on the link, likes what they see, then goes further.
It's all about the money.

boards, chat rooms, email, etc.  I've seen many clubs that deal with
UFO's and such also have to put up with porn postings to porn sites,

I read about UFOs over lakes, UFOs draining water from things
including water tanks, ... etc.
But nothing in the reeds.

the shores of a lake? I learned of one & to the best of my knowledge
