Thanks again for all replies and this one has taught me something new about
Google.
Time was when the words being in the order typed without break would bring a hit
to the top of the list reliably. "Robin run in the hole" does inded find this -
whereas now without the quotes it's not on the first page of hits...
Having said that the quote I was told about is Victorian but I will ask whether
an animal is really ruled out by the context !
