The purpose of this organization is to connect those interested in computer/video game development. The organization allows for the exchange of ideas and information, networking people for working together on game development, and providing especial encouragement and support to those interested in a professional career in this industry. Also the organization will encourage submissions to game development contests such as the Independent Games Festival.
The scope of our organization covers all types of computer/video games on any platform or technology, written in any computer language. Topics of interest may include (but are not limited to): programming, visual arts, audio, game design, the business and management side of game development, and how to prepare for and get into a professional career in the industry.
This organization is willing to sponsor activities including presentations given by members on relevant topics, connecting people to develop games together, and informing members about projects that other members are working on, organization-sponsored game development projects, as well as recreational events such as 'gaming day's or LAN parties.
Some suggestions for presentations given by members: 'how to' tutorials, presentation of personal projects, relevant ideas and concepts, and book reports on relevant books. Please let us know if you would like to give a presentation.
