To celebrate Virginia Archaeology Month, the Flowerdew Hundred
Foundation is hosting a one-day lecture & workshop October 26, 10am-
3pm; entitled: "An Introduction to Archaeological Lab Methodology:
Study of a Nineteenth Century Plantation." Participants will process
& identify artifacts from a nineteenth century plantation complex,
and receive an introduction to collections management; guest speaker
Beth Acuff of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources will
follow the workshop. Admission: $6.00. Flowerdew Hundred is located
off of rte. 10, about 10 minutes east of Hopewell. Call (804) 541-
8897 to register.

(The Flowerdew Hundred Foundation is a nonprofit organization
chartered to preserve, study, and interpret the cultural and natural
history of Flowerdew Hundred and its region, and especially to
interpret the past and educate the public.)
