George Washington-Dismal Swamp Company   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #121 of 653 |
Greetings:
I am seeking assistance from any reseacher familiar with George
Washington and the activities of the Dismal Swamp Canal Company
particularly the drainage operations around the Northern end by
Suffolk. It is alledged that during drainage a archaelogical oddity
in the form of a sunken ship was found. Wood sample it appears was
of teak. My research is to find the site and confirm the style of
wood as claimed.Any input however miniscule would be appreciated.
