The Video Game Programming and Design Team
This is a Game Development Group designed to be a meeting place for members wanting to learn, teach, and share ideas and concepts on all aspects of game design such as Programming, Graphic Design, Music Composition, and Writing. Programmers will be able to learn how to program in compiled languages such as C and C++ and use Software Development Kits (SDK's), such as Dark GDK, while also learning scripting languages popular in game design such as Lua or Python. Additionally, Graphic Designers will learn how to use programs such as GIMP and Blender.
Specifically, this group is geared towards beginners with little or no game development knowledge so that they can learn from each other. Also, more advanced and knowledgeable people are welcome so that they can help share ideas and experiences with younger and less experienced members.
As a group, we may also use programs such as Game Maker or RPG Maker to show beginning concepts in game design or to test different ideas for games, so anyone wanting to design games using any of those programs are also welcome to join.
Lastly, I would like to add that this group is also open to anyone interested in computer science, engineering, or mathematics since those fields are closely linked to game development.
