Actually, I found you don't NEED the 3.0
Browser to GET online ...

If you can 'BORROW' a 3.0 disc from a
mate to set the DC up, with User/Pass/
Dial-up number... you CAN use any old
1.0 / 1.5 disc to get online :)

Trust me, it works, since all your 'settings'
are stored IN THE DC after setting up, you
just need 'any' Browser disc once that's
done....

Have used a 1.0 disc since setting up with a
3.0 CD :)

ACK!

IT seems that this is only for those with UK PS2's with the UK network

For you reading pleasure:
---------------------------
PlayStation turns web browser

The Brookfresh home page
A PlayStation2 enthusiast has found a way to turn the games console
into a web browser.

Web designer Martyn Brook has discovered that the console can be made
to view almost any webpage instead of just those associated with
Sony's online gaming service.

Mr Brook has created a homepage that acts like a familiar web browser
and lets PlayStation owners navigate around the web.

Already his specially designed website is getting steady traffic from
testers and players of Sony's gaming system.

Gaming and browsing

Sony launched its online gaming service in the UK in early June. It
gives players to the chance to play with or against other PS2 owners
over the net.

But PlayStation2 (PS2) enthusiast Martyn Brook has found that it is
possible to change the net address the PlayStation first looks for,
allowing players to view almost any website.

"It's a bit of a hack really," he said.

"I noticed there was a way you can put an IP address into the network
adapter and from there realised I could put in an address of a webpage
and create your own browser," he said.

The webpage found at www.brookfresh.co.uk has been designed for PS2
browsing. It inserts an address bar across the top of every page to
help people navigate back and forth.

The surrogate browser should be able to cope with almost any website,
said Mr Brook.

Stealth and teamwork are essential in online PS2 game Socom
Users can type in addresses using a joypad or, much more easily, with
a USB keyboard.

Soon Mr Brook will add a way for users of the site to bookmark
favourite sites so they can revisit them quickly. Once this has been
done he said that he would start work on an e-mail service.

Web browsing via the PS2 is quick because the UK service can only be
joined via a broadband link.

Mr Brook said that the software for the US version of the online
service was different, making it difficult for Americans to browse the
net via their console.

So far the PS2 browsing page has only been mentioned on the discussion
forums for early testers of the service. Despite this the site is
already getting up to 100 visitors per day.
----------------

Anyone with a PS2 and Network Adaptor, please try this and tell me if
it works!

here is the method they posted:

PLAYSTATION BROWSING
Start the Network Access Disc
Go to "Get Connected"
Go to "Advanced Options"
Choose "Configure External Network Device"
Select the settings file
Type in this net address 217.33.205.103
You should see the Brookfresh homepage
Like other operators of online console services, Sony is keen to
encourage players to visit its gaming homepage when you log on.

Hi all,

I have been thinking about getting a GP32 recently,
but a search on Ebay (UK) only found 2 items! and th
ey were both GP32's - one going for 40-50 ($60-$75
) and one con-person trying to start the bidding at
100 on the other one up for grabs.
Personally, I'd only pay about 50 max for it, since
its going to be very tough finding games for it....
unless you have a PC, in which case check out:

... a site completely devoted to hobbyist peeps that
like to port and/or create there own games for hand

ok i ordered some backups from this guy ive never ordered anything out of the
usa but i took a chance. i ordered a bunch of dc games along with DPF and,DP
3.0, and yes some xxx games for dc and psx. ya it took a month to get them
(total time me sending and him sending as well) i ordered 10 backups at 3.00 a
piece 4 of wich would not work. for a moment i thought it was my dc so i took
them to my brothers and the same thing then i pulled out my japan sakura edition
dc wich i payed 250.00 for nope same thing. so i emailed him and guess what i
have to place a whole new order to get new ones. BREAK CHECK this dude should
check his burns before sending. expecially on king long media.(WHAT THE HELL IS
THAT) bottom line i have to make an extra effort to get more disks from this guy
and to be honest i dont want anymore. morbid2k1 in the states has all kinds of
browsers at 2.00 a piece. dp 3.0,dp premire. hey you cant blame me i waited 1
month for my DPF and it wouldnt work. DUDE CHECK YOU BURNS BEFORE YOU SEND. oh
ya and if he doesnt have something on his list dont ask for him to look for it
because all you will get is. its a shame i couldnt find so and so. just please
pick another. or i sold it along time ago sorry the game wasnt that good. now
who in the hell sells a game without bu4rning it first??? duh duh clone cd.

you need the dreamcast browsers group...
